First Day of the new website

Kia ora whanau,

Today we launched our marae website. Puketawa Marae Committee is committed to looking after our marae and keeping our people informed and connected.

Our new website www.puketawamarae.com is another way to connect to our whanau and keep nga uri or Puketawa informed about what is going on at the Marae and in the wider Utakura valley.

We have just had our September 28th Marae meeting thanks to all the whanau that attended. Finalised minutes for the August meeting will be posted here and on our Facebook page soon.

We also had what we hope is the start of many wananga for nga uri o Puketawa...on September 28th whanau gathered in Puketawa urupa to learn about how to repaint the lettering on headstones. If you are interested in learning how to do this please let us know and we can run further workshops in the future.

It was great to meeting some of the Mapi whanau who had travelled from all over the the motu to come and get to know our Puketawa whanau. We were able share korero about our whanau, hapu, and Marae.
